CBS introduces five new comedies and dramas this fall, while moving around some returning favorites to new time slots. Several long-running series, such as Cold Case and Numb3rs, have come to their end.
CBS Shows Returning in Fall 2010
CBS is bringing back their most popular comedies like The Big Bang Theory (which is switching to Thursday nights) and Two and a Half Men, which will be returning to its 9 pm Monday night place.The network will also continue their popular reality shows, Survivor (in its new Wednesday night slot) and The Amazing Race. Other shows returning to CBS this fall include:

- CSI: NY
- The Good Wife
- How I Met Your Mother
- Medium
- The Mentalist

- NCIS: Los Angeles

CBS Cancels or Ends Shows as the 2010 Fall Season Gets Underway
After seven seasons, Cold Case, the detective show investigating unsolved crimes, has been canceled. Fans can catch re-runs of Cold Case on TNT in the US and Viva in Canada. Another long-running CBS series, Numb3rs, is also absent from the line-up this fall. Other shows that will not return this fall include:
- Accidentally on Purpose
- Gary Unmarried
- Ghost Whisperer
- Miami Medical
- New Adventures of Old Christine
- Three Rivers
New Shows for CBS This Fall and Midseason
CBS begins premiere week in mid-September with five new shows. One more new show will be added during the mid-season. Bringing back old names like Tom Selleck and William Shatner may bring some new fans to these series.
- Blue Bloods has Tom Selleck back on television. Selleck plays the head of a family of New York city cops
- Jim Belushi and Jerry O’Connell are The Defenders. This legal drama is slated for Wednesday nights, immediately following the popular Criminal Minds, which begins at 9 pm.
- Hawaii Five-O brings Steve McGarrett back to say “Book’em Danno” in this re-make of the 1970 series (the first show actually ran from 1968-1980) of the same name.
- With The Big Bang Theory moving to Thursday nights, Mike & Molly joins the Monday night comedy line-up on CBS. In this comical series, Mike an overweight, cop finds romance in an unexpected spot- an Overeaters Anonymous meeting.
- William Shatner plays the role of a curmudgeon dad on S#*! My Dad Says.
- A Criminal Minds spin-off is slated for midseason on CBS.
